Creating a Signature in Thunderbird

Note: These instructions apply to Thunderbird for Windows, Mac and Linux.

1. Create a text file containing what you'd like your signature to contain.
(Example shows the Windows "Notepad" application. Mac users might use TextEdit. Linux users would use whatever their default text editor is.)

2. Save that file somewhere safe and which is easily found later.

Go back to Thunderbird, select "Tools" and select "Account Settings" from the top menu to bring up the Account Settings window. Click "Attach this signature" and "Choose" to browse to the text file you just created.

3. Locate the signature file you created and select it and click open.

4.That's it. Click OK to return to Thunderbird.

Next time you compose a new e-mail, your signature will appear at the bottom of the message.
